QuickBooks Error 15271: Maintenance Releases & Update Error
- Error 15271: Payroll update unsuccessful. A file cannot be justified.
- Error 15271: The update had been incomplete. The file can’t be validated.

How to Fix QuickBooks Error 15271
So many times, this type of error can be resolved by turning off the UAC in Windows, then update your software again.To resolve this, you need to turn off the User Account Control(UAC) in Windows. Please follow the steps below:
For Windows Vista
- Choose Windows Logo.
- Then choose Control Panel.
- Type UAC in the search box and press Enter.
- Click the Turn User Account Control(UAC) on or off
- Click to clear the Use User Account Control (UAC)check box to turn off the UAC.
- Then click OK.
- Reboot your computer.
For Windows 7 & 8, 10
- Go to the Control Panel.
In Windows 7: Choose Start > Control Panel.
Windows 8: From the Start menu type Control Panel, then click Control Panel.
- In the search box, enter UAC.
- Click Change User Account Control settings.
- To turn off the UAC: Move the slider to Never notify.
- Click OK. If you are prompted for the Admin password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation. To make the change, restart your computer.
- To turn on the UAC: Move the slider to when you want to be notified.
- Click OK.
If you get the same result, please restart your QB. If the QuickBooks Update Service message window appears, click Install Later, and then reset your QB release update:
- At the top menu, click Help.
- Choose Update QuickBooks.
- After that, click Update Now.
- Then check the box next to Reset Update, and click Get Updates.
- When the “Update Complete” message appears, close and reopen
- If you get the message to install the update, click Install Now.
- When the installation is complete, restart your computer.
