Why are you taking the long time to open the file of QuickBooks?
This is commonly caused by having multiple windows or reports open within QuickBooks which must be loaded each time you open your file. You can change your settings in your preferences to not save your Desktop View when exiting. Close all the open windows/reports you have open when exiting QuickBooks.
QuickBooks open quickly and prevents reports from becoming corrupt as well.
You can do is to check your sample company file to rule out the possibility of a damaged QuickBooks software. You can repair your QuickBooks, This helps resolve errors you encounter while using the software.
To Repair QuickBooks:-
1:- Close out of QuickBooks.
2:- On your keyboard, press Windows button and the letter E to open the Computer window.
3:- Note: in Windows 8, click the Computer tab.
4:- Click Uninstall or change program.
5:- Once QuickBooks is selected, click Uninstall/Change.
6:- In the QuickBooks installation window, click Next, select the Repair radio button, click the Repair button at the bottom.
7:- Click Finish. Your installation of QuickBooks should now be repaired.
8:- You can reboot your computer, if you get the prompt to reboot.
If it opens fine, you can run Verify/Rebuild on the company file with the problem. Verify utility will scan your company file for any damaged data. Rebuild on the other hand, will attempt to repair the data damage detected.
