How to fix multi-user problem for General troubleshooting?

Intuit recommends the following solutions for each error. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all.

Ensure to update all copies of Point Sale at all stores to the most current release before trying any of the following solutions.

Solution 1: Toggle the Store Exchange Communication Method

    1. Choose File select Preferences then Company (Version 9 and earlier: Edit Preferences Company).
    2. Choose Multi-Store and select Store Exchange.
    3. Make a note of how your preferences are currently set up. In the Communication Methoddrop-down menu, select Not Used for each Store. Click Save.
    4. Choose File again, select Company Preferences Multi-Store >Store Exchange.
    5. Reenter your preferences for each store’s Communication Method which was configured originally.
    6. Click Save and send the mailbag again.
    7. Perform another cycle of store exchange.

Note: Check the license number registered in each configured store to ensure the Headquarters communicates with the Remote store properly.

Solution 2: Delete all .qbt files from both Headquarters and Remote Stores

    For Headquarters store

    1. Go to: C:\Program Data\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale x.x\Stex and open each folder.
    2. Find and delete all *.qbt files.
    3. Perform another cycle of store exchange.

    For Remote stores

    1. Searcfor all *.qbt files.
    2. Right-click any *.qbt files foundthe choose and Delete the confirm deletion.
    3. Close the Search Results screen and empty the Recycle Bin.
    4. Perform another cycle of store exchange.

Note: Perform the above steps for all Remote stores.

Solution 3: Reset the password at each store location

Important: Make sure the passwords are identical. Misspellings and proper casing will cause an error.

    1. Go to File, choose Preferencesand select Company.
    2. From the I want to drop down, under the Multi-store section, choose Store Exchange.
    3. In the right navigation pane, click Options and select Change Password.
    4. Ensure the Headquarters and Remote store passwords are the same.
    5. Perform another cycle of store exchange.

All the given methods will solve your issues. If you are still facing the problem then feel free to call our QuickBooks error Support Number 1855-441-4417.
